Go! Follow the Jack-Ass!

DonkeyI love the story in 1 Samuel 9. Saul's dad loses his donkeys and sends Saul to find them. Saul and his servant look for days and never find the donkeys. But, when they reach a city where the servant knows Samuel the prophet is staying, the servant says, "let's go ask the man of God." So they gather a little money to give to Samuel and approach the Prophet.

They didn't know, the day before, God told Samuel this very thing would occur, and that Saul should be anointed as King over Israel! Much to Saul's surprise, Samuel was expecting him, told him all what he was doing and what he WOULD do. He was anointed as king!

Here are some things I gleaned from this story:

  1. Never complain about the path you are on.
  2. Though you may not find what you are looking for, you may get what God wants you to have!
  3. Be patient. You may feel lost, but over the next hill may be a divine encounter with the power of God.
  4. Always be open. God moves you to where He wants you to be. And it's typically not the path you thought!
  5. Saul did the right thing by seeking help & guidance from God, and from a man of God.
  6. Your greatest destiny and greatest anointing from God may very well occur when it seems like all you are doing is chasing a Jack-Ass!

So. Go! Follow the Jack-Ass! Who knows what great things God has in store for you just over the next horizon. I'll bet you will be surprised!

It takes "crazy" to change things

Crazy"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square hole. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

— Apple Computer Inc.

Sounds like something the Apostle Paul would have said at a leadership conference! "Come on guys, we are going to turn the world upside down." Are you guys crazy? Yes, we are. We believe we have a divine calling, divine power & divine destiny to change the world for the Kingdom of God! We will not rest, tire, lose focus, or be defeated until our destiny is fulfilled.

I believe and live by that everyday of my life! If that is a crazy man's life, then so be it! I am a CRAZY man. And in the infamous words of Cramer...

"I'm out there, and loving every minute of it!"

I don't want to

As a leader I have a confession to make: I don't want to be a leader right now! Can anybody understand that? Too many decisions, to many people, too many projects & each and every one is legitimate and in need of attention. So how do I crawl to a place of peace and silence, where all the voices are muted?

Pardon my rant, but this is my blog, and I can complain if I want to!
